![]() So now that I have much more available time during the holiday months, I like to ease gradually into my Christmas baking schedule. It was a wonderful family business that we started as a home-based company in our house and moved to a commercial building in 2007, but with rising shipping costs and other expenses, we decided to close the business in the summer of 2015 and move on to other pursuits. No more 16 hour days during the 4th quarter of each year. Wow, the more I write, the more I miss those hectic days.īut it was time for us to retire from the cookie bakery. Every cookie recipe was designed by us and baked from scratch. My husband and I managed our internet cookie gift business from a 2000 sq ft commercial site, where together with our employees, ( I miss them all! ) baked thousands of delicious, traditional cookies from scratch, packaged them in charming gift boxes and shipped them nationwide as holiday gifts from both individuals and corporate clients. Well, not really, because we always managed to pull through each holiday season successfully. Walnut Chocolate Chip cookies are my sister’s favorite cookie that I bake and I owed her a batch! I decided to bake these Walnut Chocolate Chip Cookies today on my way to Christmas Cookie Baking!įor the past 20+ years, by the time of the first week in December, I was in over my head with holiday cookies. ![]() ![]() I thought I’d bake something classic and simple today. I resisted the temptation to go all out just yet with red and green frostings, cut-out sugar cookies and decorated gingerbread cookies. But while I’m beginning to put up a few holiday decorations and think about my gift list, on this December 2nd, 2016, I’m easing into the holidays slowly. I am planning on baking a lot of Christmas Cookies this year, most of which I will photograph and share the recipes on this baking blog.
